Make a life by what we give

To our dearest sundays family,

As I sit back and reflect on this year I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude- my heart is so full! I am beyond thankful that you are loving the experience that I dreamt up for you years ago.

As you know from visiting our studio, simplicity is a huge part of sundays. It is something we truly value and want to incorporate in everything we do. One of my favorite reads at the moment is “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo. Our philosophy at sundays is quite similar to Kondo’s — Whether you’re bringing a friend for a guilt-free manicure, or sipping a comforting cup of tea over pedicures with a loved one, the core of minimalism is that crafting memories with ones you love is far more valuable than collecting stuff. I think this is especially true over the holidays.

I remember giving a flower to my elementary school teacher for the holiday and she said that was one of the best gifts she had ever received. It doesn’t matter if a present is small or big, it is the moment you create together that matters. There was a time when presenting your gift in the form of a gift card was impersonal, and receiving one felt like the gift-giver hadn’t considered you at all, took the easy way out, or barely knew what you appreciated. I truly believe the paradigm has shifted. Creating long-lasting experiences, memorable experiences is one of the best gifts you can give! I truly believe the holidays are a time of giving. Make it one-of-a-kind at sundays with friends, loved ones or colleagues.

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

We so look forward to indulging you this holiday season.
