sundays studio: making models health a priority at NYFW

At sundays, we’ve always believed that no one should have to sacrifice their health for beauty, and the same should apply to fashion models. This NYFW, we partnered with some of our favorite fashion brands, with the talented crew of sundays nail artists providing wellness-inspired manicures for models at fashion-filled runway shows.

Often seen as a blank canvas for brands, fashion models have little to no say in what is put on their body, skin, and hair – especially during Fashion Week shows. We decided to counteract this by offering 10-free non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free nail treatments for the hardworking models backstage at both the French Connection and Zang Toi catwalk shows.

Olivia Ri’chard, fashion model comments, “I think it’s tragic how many things they put on a model’s face, hair, or nails, without us having a choice. We’re not seen as humans, and they don’t care that this could affect us negatively. And if we complain, we are seen as difficult.”

Recently, consumers have become more conscious not only of what they put in their body, but on it too. For those concerned about the potentially health-harming chemicals often found in regular polishes, our 10-free polishes offers a much less toxic alternative – safer for clients, salon staff (and now models) alike.

The models took to the runways donning their sundays studio manicures: minimalist and understated for French Connection, and a simple crown design for Zang Toi. On the runway, they were walking examples that beauty doesn’t have to be, and shouldn’t be at the expense of your health and wellbeing.
